Meetup & Dues Changes View this email in your browser Meetup & Dues Changes Hi Monica, I failed to get the newsletter out on time again and it is mostly due to the changes I am making behind the scenes. I have had a number of issues with Meetup and the dues payments so I have decided to eliminate that from Meetup and move it to a new website. This website will replace the one currently at www.hearttoheartnetworking.com but for now we have two websites. If you have paid your dues and are current, you have had an account created for you on the new website: hearttoheartnetworking.wildapricot.org If you want to sign up for a Spotlight Table or Featured Member article, you must do so through our new website. There will be only a few events that it will be required to RSVP through the new website and those events usually collect money like our Bunco Anniversary Party. That event will cost non-members $5 to attend but it will be free for members. I am keeping Meetup because it is a great way for new people to find us but eventually, we will be moving most things to the new website. Feel free to continue to RSVP on Facebook or Meetup or the new website. I would love your feedback on how the transition is working and how you like the new website. Once you register on the new website (if you are not paying dues) then it is a few simple clicks to RSVP to any upcoming meeting. I anticipate there will be a dues increase this year due to some of the changes I am making and to recover some of the losses I had from last year. I was expecting the dues renewal to occur every 12 months but Meetup was doing it every 18 months so it threw off some of my budget. Also, the new website costs more money but it also eliminates some other programs that I have been using. I still think it will cost more money in the end. I won't increase the dues until June at the earliest and I will give everyone a chance to renew at the current rate. I would appreciate if you would vote on our poll in our Facebook Group to see how much to raise the dues. I will try to get a regular newsletter out next week as we have some other exciting things coming up like our Guest Speaker on March 12th and the Bunco Anniversary Party. [Meetup] Important Meetup Dues Changes!!

I have had it with Meetup. They are not a great way to manage our dues anymore and I don't have enough control to fix the issues we have had. I will be cancelling the dues requirement so I hope we don't lose the current pending members that we have. I know at least one of our members is in the pending area because of lack of payment but they recently joined so it is confusing. I can only assume that she was a member previously and no longer eligible for a trial membership. I can't manually change it so it is frustrating!

Also, the time period for membership renewals on Meetup is 18 months and I thought it was 12 months so it is messing up my budget calculations. For anyone who is between 12 and 18 months in their paid membership, I am giving you a grace period to renew and it will be either at the end of March or the beginning of April. Most of you are due to renew in late May (end of the 18 months) so really you are getting a few extra months before I am asking you to renew again. You will have to login to our new website and pay with a credit card to renew but then it should auto renew after that.

All paid members will be added to our new website and going forward, if you want a Spotlight Table or Featured Member spot, you will need to sign up on the new website. I won't be able to move my domain name until April so we will have the temporary URL until then. You will get emails from Wild Apricot so please make sure to look for them to edit your online profile.

I hope there won't be too many hiccups while we transition. Please let me know if you encounter any problems or see any typos on the new website. We will keep Meetup for a while as it is a great way to attract new members but if people want to get the member benefits, they will need to pay their $25/yr dues on our new website.

This new website costs more money but I am also hoping to eliminate a few other expenses after the transition. I won't make a decision to increase our dues until May or June as I want to see how everything works out.
