Heart to Heart Reminder Dec 11th View this email in your browser Heart to Heart Reminder December 11, 2017 Hi Monica, Don't forget to bring gift items for moms for the Snohomish County Domestic Violence Services. Our last collection date will be Dec 11th which is our holiday party. Just like last year, we supported them with new and gently used items for the kids to go "shopping" for their moms for the holidays. Speaking of our holiday party, we are also having our annual White Elephant Gift Exchange as well. It is optional to attend and participate so if you don't like to have fun or receive funny gag gifts, then skip this meeting. Make sure you bring an unwanted, funny, silly, weird item from your home and wrap it for gift giving. Please do not purchase anything for this gift unless you have to. Make sure you don't spend more than $10 on the gift if you have to buy something. We will have brief introductions and most of the meeting will be spent opening/stealing gifts. I also updated the process for signing up for a Spotlight Table and Member of the Month as you will now be required to pay at the time of scheduling. This will eliminate the hassle of what happens when people pay for a table but don't reserve the time on the calendar. It creates a lot more work so I am attempting to streamline the process. You will receive no warning or notification from Meetup. If you are in your TRIAL period, you will be REMOVED at the end of your trial period. You will receive no warning or notification from Meetup. Also, I have changed the trial period to now be 6 months but this only applies to the members who joined after I made this change. To find out about the status of your dues payment and renewal date, please visit the Meetup website and log in to your account. You will need to view your profile to see this information. This information will NOT be available on the Meetup app on your phone or when you view the website on a mobile device. If you want to stay connected with our group, you can join our Facebook page/group but since most of our new members find us through Meetup, I will focus most of my attention here. https://www.facebook.com/H2Hwomen/ VENUE UPDATES NORTHEND We had a suggestion offered at the meeting in December and that was to change the menu for the buffet every quarter. KAREN KOENIG was our last next winner and she picked a special menu for the Nov 27th meeting. I will select another winner from the people who have paid their dues through Dec 31st.   EASTSIDE ON HOLD! The Eastside chapter, has struggled to get enough people to attend on a regular basis. If you are interested in making this chapter work, please email Kristina at kmmccrady@aol.com with your feedback, ideas, etc. We are going to need 5-10 people to step up and help lead this group and promote it to others. Without this, we will have to close this chapter.  MEMBER OF THE MONTH In order to utilize our website more, I have decided to offer a "Member of the Month" featured article. You provide me with an article about you and your business that we can publish on our website. You can use 500-1200 words, up to 5 images, and unlimited text links. Content is subject to approval. This is great for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and will remain on the site indefinitely. ADVENTURE OUTINGS This fun idea will now be taken over by the Secret Travel Society! Kim and Stephanie had a great idea but they don't have the time to plan fun events for our group. The idea was to have a monthly H2H Adventure Outing where we meet up and spend $30-40 per person on a fun activity or event. There may be an occasional event that will be shared here for our group but for most social events, you will find them on the Secret Travel Society calendar. We have a free membership that you can join for limited access to our social calendar or you can pay a small monthly fee to be a VIP member which has full access to the calendar plus special MEMBER ONLY perks, gifts, discounts and more.  Our next planned event is Mama Mia at the 5th Ave Theater in February. We will be going on Thur Feb 22nd so if you want tickets, contact Monica ASAP! Another fun event that we have planned is a Sip, Paint and Dine event on Jan 26th. We also have a happy hour event that we host every month where we can get to know each other in a fun, casual setting. Our next one is on Monday Dec 4th at the Bonefish in Bothell. It is $5 Martini Monday!  SPOTLIGHT TABLES - NORTHEND To have a table, you must have attended a meeting within the last 3 months. You will get 7 minutes to present about your business and/or passion. The cost for a Spotlight Table is $25 or $15 if you have paid your membership dues. If you want to sign up for a table, you will have to go online and sign up for a table. If you are not current on your member dues, an invoice will be sent for the additional $10. If payment is not received within one week, your spot will be cancelled, and all money will be refunded.
