I have re-enabled our dues requirement to be a Meetup member but this removed 333 members from our group. They are still sitting in our "pending" area but eventually I guess we will have to figure out a way to remove any inactive pending members. What a mess! Did you hear what our travel agency is starting? It is the Secret Travel Society™ and we are accepting applications for our beta testing group. This whole change/update has been a bit of a mess! The masses have spoken and I thank each of you who emailed or talked to me about this upcoming change with Meetup. I have made the decision to roll with the changes which means... If you have NOT PAID your yearly dues of $25/year then Meetup will REMOVE you from the group. You will receive no warning or notification from Meetup. If you are in your TRIAL period, you will be REMOVED at the end of your trial period. You will receive no warning or notification from Meetup. Also, I have changed the trial period to now be 6 months but this only applies to the members who joined after I made this change. I have no idea when members will be removed and maybe you have already been removed by the time this email goes out. Fun huh? To find out about the status of your dues payment and renewal date, please visit the Meetup website and log in to your account. Then you will need to view your profile to see this information. This information will NOT be available on the Meetup app on your phone or when you view the website on a mobile device. KAREN KOENIG is our next winner and I will select another winner from the people who have paid their dues through Dec 31st.   EASTSIDE STARTING AGAIN SEPT 19th! The Eastside chapter, will be meeting at Café Veloce in Kirkland, just off of I-405 in Totem Lake. It is just off Totem Lake Boulevard, so hopefully will be very easy to come to. Italian food and wines -- so this should be fun. I know it is hard to go down 520, to get to the Family Pancake House sometimes in the evenings. -- 12514 120th AVE NE, Kirkland, WA MEMBER OF THE MONTH We have a new feature on our website! You can be a "Member of the Month" with a featured article. You provide me with an article about you and your business that we can publish on our website. You can use 500-1200 words, up to 5 images, and unlimited text links. Content is subject to approval. This is great for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and will remain on the site indefinitely. NORTHEND QUARTERLY SPEAKER Our last speaker scheduled for this year is Morgan Oaks (aka Dr. Mo) on Oct 23, 2017. He recently had a TedX talk about "Learning the Language of Dude" where he shared his life story and experiences and how it allowed him to listen more deeply to himself and the world around him. I just spoke with him today and his presentation for our group is called "Creating Your Maximum Impact - Keys to Ultimate Clarity, Courageous Living and Inspired Action" and I am really excited to have him share his vision and tools with you. Let us know!  ADVENTURE OUTINGS Kim and Stephanie have stepped up to lead a monthly H2H Adventure Outing where we plan to meet and spend $30-40 per person on a fun activity or event. Some ideas that we have been tossing around were karaoke, a mani/pedi day at the spa, wine tasting, solve a puzzle room, etc. Send your ideas of fun activities to do to Kim or Stephanie. Our next event is Mama Mia at the 5th Ave Theater in February 2018. Kim is preparing a poll so we can pick a date that most of us agree on. This event will be co-sponsored by the Secret Travel Society™! This isn't really an Adventure Outing but I didn't know where else to put the information. Clothes For Kids is a great organization and they have attended several of our meetings. They are having a free breakfast on Thursday Oct 12th at 7:30am to 9:00am and donations will be asked for those who attend. Please let me know if you help me fill our table!  SPOTLIGHT TABLES - NORTHEND To have a table, you must have attended a meeting within the last 3 months. You will get 7 minutes to present about your business and/or passion. The cost for a Spotlight Table is $25 or $15 if you are a PAID MEMBER. If you want to sign up for a table, you will have to go online and sign up for a table.
