Please reply to this email with your feedback. I just got a notification from Meetup that they are changing the way dues are handled. Right now, I have it set where if you do not pay your yearly dues within 90 days of joining, the Meetup group will disable your ability to RSVP to our meetings. Starting VERY SOON, if you do not pay your membership dues, you will be REMOVED from our Meetup Group. This is not ideal obviously. If your trial period has expired then you will be removed IMMEDIATELY and without warning. If you are still within your trial period, then you will be removed at the end of the trial period. I have changed the trial period to 180 days (the max) but this will only apply to new members who join after I make that change. My options are quite limited right now so please let me know what you prefer. Change nothing with the understanding that only 60 people will be left in the group. We currently have 427 members in our group. There are many inactive members but they do eventually come back to us or they remove themselves from the group. Disable the dues payments on Meetup and move to a manual process through Square. I will have to use my Virtual Assistant more for this process so that *could* mean that an increase in the yearly dues will have to be implemented. Disable the dues payments on Meetup and move to a membership management website to handle everything. This is the most time consuming and expensive option but in the long run it might be the best solution. I will probably move away from Meetup after this new process is up and running. VENUE UPDATES NORTHEND We had a suggestion offered at the meeting in December and that was to change the menu for the buffet every quarter. KAREN KOENIG is our next winner and I will select another winner from the people who have paid their dues through Dec 31st.   EASTSIDE STARTING AGAIN SEPT 19th! The Eastside chapter, will be meeting at Café Veloce in Kirkland, just off of I-405 in Totem Lake. It is just off Totem Lake Boulevard, so hopefully will be very easy to come to. Italian food and wines -- so this should be fun. I know it is hard to go down 520, to get to the Family Pancake House sometimes in the evenings. -- 12514 120th AVE NE, Kirkland, WA MEMBER OF THE MONTH In order to utilize our website more, I have decided to offer a "Member of the Month" featured article. You provide me with an article about you and your business that we can publish on our website. You can use 500-1200 words, up to 5 images, and unlimited text links. Content is subject to approval. This is great for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and will remain on the site indefinitely. NORTHEND QUARTERLY SPEAKER Our last speaker scheduled for this year is Morgan Oaks (aka Dr. Mo) with An Evolution in Chiropractic on Oct 23, 2017. He recently had a TedX talk about "Learning the Language of Dude" where he shared his life story and experiences and how it allowed him to listen more deeply to himself and the world around him. We are still working out the details of the exact subject of his presentation so stay tuned! Do you have someone to recommend or a topic that you want to hear about? Let us know!  ADVENTURE OUTINGS Kim and Stephanie have stepped up to lead a monthly H2H Adventure Outing where we plan to meet and spend $30-40 per person on a fun activity or event. Some ideas that we have been tossing around were karaoke, a mani/pedi day at the spa, wine tasting, solve a puzzle room, etc. Send your ideas of fun activities to do to Kim or Stephanie. Our next event is Mama Mia at the 5th Ave Theater in February. Kim is preparing a poll so we can pick a date that most of us agree on. This event will be co-sponsored by the Secret Travel Society™! This isn't really an Adventure Outing but I didn't know where else to put the information. Clothes For Kids is a great organization and they have attended several of our meetings. They are having a free breakfast on Thursday Oct 12th at 7:30am to 9:00am and donations will be asked for those who attend. Please let me know if you help me fill our table!  SPOTLIGHT TABLES - NORTHEND To have a table, you must have attended a meeting within the last 3 months. You will get 7 minutes to present about your business and/or passion. The cost for a Spotlight Table is $25 or $15 if you are a PAID MEMBER. If you want to sign up for a table, you will have to go online and sign up for a table.
