Heart to Heart Happens - Aug 2016 View this email in your browser Heart to Heart Happenings Aug 2016 Hi Monica, Thank you to Heather Pybas for running the last meeting for me as I was at a women's conference in Dallas. I missed everyone but I also had some great breakthroughs at the conference so look for some changes over the next few months. It sounds like Heather did a great job and we had a great turnout too. We had 7 people who showed up but didn't RSVP. I ask that you PLEASE let us know if you are coming to the meeting or not so we can have an accurate headcount for food. It is always a pleasant surprise to have more than we expected but sometimes it goes the other way and that can be frustrating for the venue as they prepared more food than what we could support in our attendance. One of my breakthroughs is that I have decided that I can no longer do everything and I am falling behind in my tasks for this group. I was the behind the scenes gal long before I ran the show so I cannot continue to do everything. If you are willing to help out with some administrative tasks, please contact me. I would like to hire within the group as it will be a lot cheaper than if I have to hire outside the group. I have money that I can spend on this but I won't have enough reserves to pay people long term so there will be changes to the cost of the Spotlight Tables, Meetup Advertising, and some new opportunities as well. Please read all the details below. So, with all that said I am super excited to welcome Nikki Rausch as our guest speaker at our Northend meeting on 8/22. She will be talking to us about "Buying Signals: Converting Casual Conversations Into Sales". Please make sure to RSVP, invite your business women friends and share the event on Facebook or email. I am experimenting with highlighting our Meetup Sponsors and giving them greater exposure. I noticed that the ads only show up on the desktop version of Meetup and I think most people use the app or the mobile version in a web browser which means these ads are probably not seen as much as I had hoped. I will raise the prices for our next round of Meetup Sponsors because every month I will highlight two businesses that also have ads on our Meetup website. Starting in November, the Meetup Sponsors will increase from $35 to $49 for a 6 month advertising run. That works out to be a little over $8/month so it is still very reasonable advertising for your business. I will accept 6 sponsors for this offer. That means you will have at least two months where your ad will appear in our emails. These emails also get published to our Facebook page and website so there will be more chances for people to see your ads.   SPOTLIGHT TABLES I will also be increasing the price of our Spotlight Tables where you get 7 minutes to present about your business and you can also set up a table to display/sell your products/services. Starting in November, the price will increase from $20 to $25 per table.    MEMBER OF THE MONTH This is a new offer that I would like to start in November as well.  Perhaps earlier if people respond to it and get me their content quickly. We are not using our website as much as we should so I would love to offer a "Member of the Month" where you will pay $49 and you will provide me with a blog post that we can put on our website. You will have the chance to highlight your business and tell us more about what you sell/offer. You can use 500-1200 words, up to 5 images, and unlimited text links. Content is subject to approval. This is great for SEO and will remain on the site indefinitely. Your blog post will also be shared on Facebook and highlighted in our monthly newsletter as well. As an introductory offer, I will take the first 3 people for just $35! SPECIAL SPEAKER Here are the upcoming speakers on our calendar so SAVE THE DATE! I am very excited to announce our next special speaker event on Aug 22nd with Nikki Rausch The Sales Maven who will speak to us on "Buying Signals". The last speaker we will have this year is Nicole Lux Ritchie with Luxcentric on Oct 24th and her talk is about "Inbox Zero".    EASTSIDE CHAPTER For our Eastside chapter, we will meet every TBD at Canyons in Redmond and Kristina McCrady will be leading that group. We are working on moving to twice a month but we are having issues with settling on a regular day. Kristina is already committed to another meeting on the 3rd Thursday so that is why we have to move the day of the week that we meet. Wednesday had the most votes in our poll but Canyon's is not available on Wed evenings as there is another group at that time. We could move to a new restaurant or we can move it to Tuesday which is most likely the way we will go. We are keeping the 1st Thursday in September as we already have people committed to attending. After that we will probably move to every 1st and 3rd TUESDAY but look for another update soon to come to confirm this change. There will be 1 Spotlight Table at each meeting until attendance supports an additional one. The tables are $10 and you must attend a meeting to sign up. Kristina also plans on drawing for a free 3-minute commercial (Spotlight tables get 7 minutes and regular commercials are 1.5 minutes) so make sure you attend and get the lowdown on everything she has planned.   MONTHLY ADVENTURE OUTINGS Kim and Stephanie have also stepped up to lead a monthly H2H Adventure Outing where we plan to meet and spend $30-40 per person on a fun activity or event. Some ideas that we have been tossing around were karaoke, a mani/pedi day at the spa, wine tasting, solve a puzzle room, etc. Send your ideas of fun activities to do to Kim or Stephanie. Look for the next outing on our Meetup page! SPOTLIGHT TABLES - NORTHEND To have a table, you must have attended a meeting within the last 3 months. You will get 7 minutes to present about your business and/or passion.
